"We can't be so fixated on our desire
to preserve the rights of ordinary Americans ..."
- Bill Clinton (USA TODAY, 11 March 1993, page 2A)
President Clinton appointed Janet Reno, and Janet Reno appointed
Keneth Starr to investigate. They both did their jobs in spite
of the Clintons meddling with an investigation requested by him.
"I am pleased to sign into law S.24, the Independent Council Act...
a foundation stone for the trust between the Government and our
citizens. It ensures that no matter what party controls the
Congress or the executive branch, an independent, nonpartisan
process will be in place to guarantee the integrity of public
officials and insure that no one is above the law... In fact,
the independent counsel statute has been in the past and is today
a force for Government integrity and public confidence... This is
a good bill that I sign into law today; good for the American
people and good for their confidence in our democracy."
- President William Jefferson Clinton statement
at White House signing ceremony, June 30, 1994 --
We are NOT a democracy, we are a Republic based upon laws and
our Constitution. Our Laws come about by a modified democratic
process, but we do not run our country by popularity/mob rule.
Treason, bribery or other high crimes and misdemeanors.....
Realize: "high crimes" to the founding fathers didn't mean a
really BIG crime! It meant non-criminal offenses against our system
of government at large committed by someone in HIGH office--a much
lower standard than the interpretation offered by the White House
of late. Impeachment was designed specifically to remove a corrupt
HIGH government official who uses his knowlege of the law or his
position (frequently a lawyer) to skirt direct criminality. Felonies
were not mentioned because it was assumed that any person covicted of
a felony was automatically inelligable to hold office of any kind,
and need not even be mentioned here.
"Yes, the president should resign. He has lied to the American
people, time and time again, and betrayed their trust. He is no
longer an effective leader. Since he has admitted guilt, there
is no reason to put the American people through an impeachment.
He will serve absolutely no purpose in finishing out his term,
the only possible solution is for the president to save some
dignity and resign."
-- William Jefferson Clinton, July 1974 on President Nixon --
"...Yes, if an American president had sex in the Whitehouse with an
Intern and lied to the American people about it, he should resign..."
-- Hillary Clinton, on Today Show, January 1998 --
I ask this question of the media:
You will promote Larry Flint's antics, but not remind the
people of the facts, and the Law in this situation... WHY?
We get enough garbage from the professional liars (spin doctors)
and need our freedom of the press to keep the American people
advised of this corruption of our values and the facts.
Question: The Democrats complained bitterly at the lack of witnesses
during the House Impeachment process (witnesses were procedurally
incorrect) and yet want no part of witnesses during the Senate hearings
which is, procedurally, the correct time. Why does the medis NOT tell
guests of this fact? What are they afraid of? Follow the money!
I would rather have a trial lasting 2 months, than two more years
of the Clinton Administration.
We have a government of Laws, not popularity and sensationalism, or
do we? -- John Beaman - Webmaster - http://www.W3F.com/patriots --
